South Africa Dash Pakistan's Hopes Of Organising A Tri-Series With Sri Lanka

Pakistan's hopes of arranging a one-day series with South Africa have been dashed after the latter turned down a request from the Pakistan Cricket Board saying their players need rest after returing from the hectic tour of England.

Pakistan had convinced Sri Lanka to play a tri-series with South Africa in September to compensate for the postponement of Champions Trophy, but their efforts were brought to naught.

"Cricket South Africa have today informed us that they can't arrange the series as their players have had a long and hectic tour of England which ended on a disappointing note for them," Shafqat Naghmi, the chief operating officer of the PCB was quoted as saying to Reuters.

With South Africa not in the mood, Pakistan is now trying to arrange for a one-day series with Sri Lanka.
